BAR Red Recruit bike ride charity event to raise funds for the Removal Benevolent Association that assist people in the removal industry that have fallen on hard times.
We had 9 riders. They cycled from Watford BAR offices to Windsor at the start of the BAR conference in May 2012. The riders were Steve Maples and Lorna Jefferies of Red Recruit. Matt Purdie the Chairman and past president of the BAR as well Stephen Gray the MD of Angle Pacific. Chris Weymouth of QSS Ltd and Interdean Relocation Services Tim Wolsey, James Saar, Julia day and Paul Berryman.
The course was 26 miles and was completed in 1 hour and 48 minutes by the fastest group. An amount of £1600 was raised in total and a further £1800 was raised in the raffle at the gala dinner.
We are also currently in the process of raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Removers Benevolent Fund (RBA).
We also have a just giving page Charity Bike Ride
We did the same thing last year raising money for Centrepoint & Removers Benevolent Fund (RBA) – You can see details on this by seeing last years just giving page – The Red Group
We also donate year round donations to centrepoint - CentrePoint Website
Centrepoint believes that we should live in a society where all young people realise their potential. Centrepoint works with young people who often have little sense of self-worth or self-respect; we help them to tackle the underlying issues behind their homelessness and focus on the positive aspects of their lives. We want them to become resolute, resourceful and resilient.
